This is a long one; I'll be starting on it right away.

So ... he was hit by a train?

This one made an interesting complement to "Something There Is ...," one about a reader and one about a writer.

Even though "The Juniper Tree" and "Blue Rose" from the same collection are burned into my brain, I could not remember this one at all. I had just arrived at the novel use of the baby bottle when I was handed Cormac McCarthy's Stella Maris, so that immediately received my full attention. Back to "The Buffalo Hunter" in a bit!
