About me:
I have been a member of LT since March 2007.
I've had a love of books since I was very young. My mom was a librarian and everyone in our family read a lot. I was a bookseller/marketing director for an independent bookshop in the midwest from 1989-2009. I now do marketing for a nature center, which I also love (schlitzaudubon.org). My work is hybrid - about half from home and half at the center.
I met my husband while both of us were working in the bookshop, although we grew up less than a mile from each other about two hours north of Milwaukee! My husband retired pre-pandemic in 2020. We have a daughter who is a junior at UW Madison.
Anyone is welcome to join my thread. As a bookseller, I was much more open to talking about books on the floor than writing a review. Therefore, don't expect a lot of reviews - mostly a record of my reading. BTW - I have paper records from the '90s.
Most of my comments are made on my friends' threads, especially that of my fellow birder, beer- and book lover Mark (msf59).

Hope you have a great year of reading!

Wishing you a comfortable reading year in 2023, Nancy.
Don't let Mark and his birds, books and beer keep you all to himself! As Meatloaf would say 2 out of 3 ain't bad (I'm not a birder but the beer and the books I can compete!).

Happy new thread for the new year Nancy! I have I'm Glad My Mom Died on my list to try and read this year, hope it's a good one for you.

Happy New Year, Nancy. I am so glad you at least started a thread and you always welcome to post any thoughts over on my thread or Paul's...😁
Looking forward to another year of sharing birds, books and hopefully a beer at some point.

Happy new year, Nancy! I listened to I'm Glad My Mom Died in December and while I can't say I "enjoyed" it, I thought it was a tour de force.

Here you are!! Welcome back. Now please do make it a habit. Okay? : )
Spring in WI? Ummm. I remember snow in MN in May, so don't be holding your breath. LOL.
Do you recommend I'm Glad My Mom Died? That's some title! Yikes. I'm guessing it is not a light read, but is it good?

>17 Berly: I do recommend I'm Glad My Mom Died. I listened to the audio - she reads it. Parts are harrowing; I admire her for writing this book and sharing what she went through. I listened to the audio, which she narrates. There is just so much to this book.
