A little about me: I'm a retired electrical engineer in my mid-sixties. Grew up in NY and NJ but I have lived in near Seattle, Washington since 1977. My wife is also an avid reader and our two cats tolerate our eccentricities.

I have a large home library of mainly science and technical books. I read about 85% nonfiction but I always look for good fiction and other genres to stretch my horizons. I spend a lot of time hiking and exploring nature in the Cascade and Olympic mountains and occasionally explore and hike in other areas of the world. I'm an amateur naturalist, always learning. "Each one of us adds a little to our understanding of Nature, and from all the facts assembled arises a certain grandeur." - Aristotle as quoted by Bradford Washburn.

I am a good customer of the King County Library System and volunteer at two library branches. I also spend time at Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park, Washington.

>3 drneutron: Thanks, it was an interesting read. I realized to answer your question I should write a review. Here it is:

Matt Ridley and Alina Chan address the origins of the COVID-19 virus. Their leading theory is the virus originated in a lab. They do provide a reasonable steelman argument for the virus emerging from nature. The book is a science-based detective story; the authors and a community of people found some tantalizing clues pointing to the virus's origin. The last three chapters are easier to read and digest. The book concludes they have yet to find the source of COVID-19 as of 2022, but some people likely know the answer. The authors ask those who know more to come forward to the world with information.
