I am possessed with exploring the possessive apostrophe in Bojangles': https://wapo.st/3VUfmGi

Possessed or obsessed? :-)
The relevant question is whether the fried chicken place was established before or after the song, "Mr. Bojangles" by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band (https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=mr.+bojangles+lyrics&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8)
If after, I would go with no apostrophe since I would give naming credit to the authors of the song.
Yours in eternal obsession…
k4k
PS. Also, an apostrophe implies another word should be added, but it isn't, so that is bad English.
Yours again in eternal...

Right, but >2 krazy4katz: and I were talking about the song that Walker wrote, which is not about Bill Robinson and which is also apparently where the restaurant chain got its name.
