>1 wcarter: Thank you for taking the time to post this. We are thrilled by the reviews we have received and from the Author herself. Now on to War Horse, Inkheart and Life of Pi.

I find it curious that they put the Lyra's Books symbol on the spine since Rich Tong has said that he doesn't like to place it on his books as he doesn't like the way that it looks.

>3 wooter: Different publishers, different logo. I can understand the confusion though, as they do look very similar and both bound by Rich’s Ludlow.

Hello everyone. Just so you know, Books Illustrated has been publishing limited edition books of classic stories since 2013. Our company logo was always a black cat as you can see here . My first time posting an image so it might not work! We then upgraded our image for our letterpress editions working with living authors. Cats have always been part of our business since we started in 1999. I hope that this is interesting to you.

Ok, it seems I still haven't got the hang of posting pictures here... If you visit our facebook page where we show original illustrations and book, you will see tho old cat and book logo integrated in our Art of the Imagination page. https://www.facebook.com/artoftheimaginationpage

No one is disputing cats were always part of your logo, just that the rebranded logo looks very similar to the Lyra’s logo. So much so they are mistaken for the same company. And the Lyra’s logo was created before your reimagined logo.

That image is the one of just the cat; the actual logo is the coloured one of the cat with books. All we did was added stars. We were not concerned that Lyra's logo was similar to ours with a cat and books, neither did we see it a problem adding stars to our logo. We are all friends and talk often as we, Rich and others believe we are pushing forward finepress publications here in the UK.

I received my Collector’s copy a few days ago and I’m very happy with it. I enjoyed it the first time I read it and I’m looking forward to reading this edition.

>11 Books-Illustrated: Thank you for all the work that you put into it.

The BI-logo caught my eye in your latest review of Starless Sea, but I see there is already a discussion on the logos. Here is another take on >9 wcarter: (hopefully to scale).

I love both logos, and I love cats, and books, so it's a win for everyone :)

For folks that have read both The Night Circus and Starless Sea, what are your thoughts? I have a copy of Books Illustrated's Night Circus I'm reading at the moment and very much enjoying it!

Thanks, as I said, I'm about 1/4 through and it certainly has a Gaiman/fairy tale vibe, and I mean that in the best of ways.

Got an email from Books Illustrated saying that the Night Circus is now entirely sold out. Congrats to them and the owners, it's something special. By the way, I'm entirely convinced this will be a movie or TV show sometime, the question is when :)
