Am I striking an unnecessarily dark note if I ask why the presence of Paranthropus teeth might not be evidence that Homo tool-users occasionally ate the odd one. Chimpanzees are known to eat monkeys, after all.

Thanks for posting this. I’ve taken a long break, or at least an extreme slow-down, from internet-based engagement so my apologies for responding to this a year+ late! (And in a group I - in name anyway - administer!)
There are no sharp lines in evolution, especially in hominin evolution.
It might be interesting to think about the finding above in the light of this video I made relevant to the topic, titled “Oldest Art Ever”. If anyone sees it, I hope you enjoy it.
