Due to the length of time that I have been a member and the fact that I have posted 100% of my reviews, LibraryThing has been very generous by offering me 2-4 books per month as a possibility. This April, 2023 is the first month that I have not received a book in the drawing. I've always received 1-2 books in every previous drawing. Just checking in to see if all is in order with my account.
Thank you.
Thank you.

I didn’t either but my score is not so good because I hate carrying books in my inventory that I no longer own. I didn’t realize until much too late that if you delete the book your previously submitted review no longer counts.

Your account is probably fine. The randomizer probably just didn't pick you this time around.
Or there weren't enough book options available to give you any.
Or any of several other possible answers

>1 AndreaHelena: I almost always receive LTER books and have a 100% score. That said, every now and again, I will not receive a book I've requested. So it's not that unusual for that to happen.
Never have I received more than 1 book, although my settings are set to receive more than one if possible.

>2 varielle: Because of this issue, I keep the books that I review but aren't keepers, in my "All Collections" library, but I move them from "Read" to "Read But Unowned" when I give them away. This preserves my reviews, but I don't mix them up with the books I actually hold onto.

Yes, I have a "Got rid of" collection that is mostly books I don't own anymore but want the review to persist for some reason.

One part of the secret algorithm gives an added boost to accounts that haven't won in a while. If your chances of getting a book increase if you haven't won for a while, that means that they also decrease a bit if you have had a winning streak.
Also, the more books you have entered, the better your chances that you will win a book. The algorithm tries to match the reader to the book.
You can check how many people requested the books you wanted. If there were 5 copies available, and 353 requested it, your chances were not very good.

I offered my book in the giveaway. I offered 30 copies, had 37 requests, but there were only 10 winners, so make of that what you will

>8 ThomasNorford: When the books are assigned, the first copy of each book is assigned, then the second copy of each book ...
The members can say that they only want one book, or are willing to take two or more. If a member only wants one book in a month, and they won a book in the first round, then they are not available to win in the rest of the rounds. Some members only request one or two books to improve their chances of getting the books they really want. Others request lots of books to improve their chances of getting anything.
Especially if several similar books are on offer, it can easily happen that after a few rounds many of those who requested one of them have already won something else.

>9 MarthaJeanne: Ah ok, that makes sense, thanks.

>1 AndreaHelena: Apologies for any confusion, but it looks like you did indeed win a book in April: Code Crisis. You should have received an on-site LibraryThing message notifying you of this win on April 26th. Check your inbox, and your ER wins page.
That being said, on a general note, while our winners algorithm definitely looks at past reviewing history in ER (your ER reviewing score), as well as your other on-site activity, there are other factors as well, including the element of chance, as well as the specific giveaways you entered, and who the other entrants were. Even with the best score in the world, it is possible for someone not win one month, because they only requested a highly sought book, and the other entrants had scores equal to their own, and better luck.

>2 varielle: Unfortunately, reviews on LibraryThing do not stand independent of copies cataloged. One must have the book cataloged in one's account, in order to review it, and deleting the book deletes the review as well. I advise the approach described by tealadytoo or Stevil2001—either moving the book to the "read but unowned" collection, or creating a custom collection for books no longer in your actual library, but which you wish to retain on LT, for review purposes.

>8 ThomasNorford: I know this can be a disappointing result, especially when it seems that there are enough entrants for all copies of the book to be given away. MarthaJeanne explained one of the main reasons this might occur. Another possible reason is that some entrants might be disqualified, due to their reviewing history in the program. Our aim is to produce winners who write reviews, and we are always looking for ways to improve the overall reviewing rate, in the ER program.
