An LT helper suggested I throw my problem to the bug-catchers; I hope I can explain it clearly.
I was repairing broken links in 'some publishers' section of my profile page. Repairs went through, all right, but at some point all the subsequent sections disappered from profile. When I go to settings though & click HTML edit icon the links for all those sections appear; it's just that clicking 'save' doesn't restore them to profile page. (Fwiw I've had this problem on a far smaller scale in the past.)
The helper suggested that I could always go to 'history' in settings & restore the whole page that way but I'd prefer not to as I'm terrified of losing all the edits I made to repair links--I've inexplicably lost other things on this site & I'm very wary of seeing other work go down the drain.
TLDR: Can anyone help me save links showing in settings so that they'll actually show on profile page? Many thanks.

It looks like you have a comment tag in the code, "<!--", which is causing everything after "Some series" to be hidden. Closing as not a bug.

>2 MarthaJeanne: I'll double check the section I edited for those problems but as the new links I put in it registered on profile I doubt any of those entries was the cause.
(Oh feck I've just double-checked new links, all of which I'd previously double-checked after each edit, and whilst some are fine some now link to a generic amazon page--why? what has happened?)

Egad only first part of my previous post was saved even though complete post showed in 'add message' and preview---??? Again, whatever is happening here?

Are you using square or angle brackets in your post?

>8 jjwilson61: Apologies for delay. Angle throughout, as always. If it helps to know, had made no edits within missing section when it disappared but only within section that *is* showing on profile & used no brackets at all in previous posts on this thread that didn't show in their entireity.
edit: (Just tested & looks like problem with incomplete posts on this thread has been resolved, at least.)

Just realized that my post in >3 knerd.knitter: was not fully visible, so posting this again:

>11 knerd.knitter: If you mean an extraneous thing showing in settings that oughtn't be there, where can I find it so as to delete it? Thanks.

>11 knerd.knitter: Belated thanks. Found & deleted a weird extraneous insertion like that after reading your post but had no joy. Fed up with status quo so withoout much hope re-read this thread today & noticed your pointing out the phrase 'some series'; indeed in last entry before that (rather than after itweirdly, as 'some series' was still showing on profile) there was another bit with random symbols & deleting that finally put profile in order.
Thanks again. One less bothersome item in my relatively unbothered life.
