I normally avoid these huge volumes, as they are difficult to hold and read. But I will make an exception for this, as I am a huge Neil Gaiman fan and this is where he made his bones.
Volumes 1-20 of the series, with commentary. Yes Please.

Too bad it’s not signed.
Pricing doesn’t make any sense either.
A signed Easton book by Gaiman: $129
A non-signed and non-limited coffee table edition by Gaiman: $276

Iam sure thr higher price reflects the higher production costs. 560 pages, mostly illustrations, is more expensive to print than pages of text.
Signature does not matter to me.
I too do not usually bite at thrse large books, but this is such an important part of Gaiman's writingthat I made an exception for this.
Will review it here when it arrivrs.

>4 sdawson: Considering the hardcover edition retails on Amazon for $30 as of today, robbieac, is onto something:
https://www.amazon.com/Annotated-Sandman-Vol-2022/dp/1779515162
Easton Press's TN printer simply receives bulk order of the text blocks from another printer, gilds them and then binds them in leather with a cherry on top - decorative spine ribbons & ribbon page marker...

Another thing to keep in mind is that Annotated Sandman is in black and white, while the original Sandman is in colour. I always took the purpose behind that to be that collectors won't be able to just 'do with' Annotated Sandman on its own, but will buy a properly coloured edition, too. I'm kind of allergic to this kind of business model and that's why I never bought the Annotated Sandman even at a cheaper price than Easton Press has.

>7 SF-72: I think it's less 'a business model' ... and more a design choice. Most artists enjoy the raw line drawings as they do the final color renders. Two completely different was of enjoying art. But it indeed gets expensive when your tastes include both.

>3 robbieac: indeed! The only official signed edition I am aware of is the Silver Omnibus edition which sold out years ago. Retail was $500, and now it's thousands. Very similar to the standard omnibus albeit a nicer more elegant cover and a decent slipcase, but the signature is what makes it so desirable. I wonder if Easton reached out to Gaiman and perhaps DC is not letting him sign any editions? Or maybe he just does not want to :)

Following up on this thread. This is the 2022 edition, bound by Easton Press, but using the same pages as can be found elsewhere on the web for much less money. It has the usual Easton Press features : full leather cover, orange moire end pages, gilt paper edges, sewn pages. Also gold inlay on the leather cover, which is gray, purple and the gold.
Stated "Printed by RR Donnelley Asia Printing Soutions, China. 2/22/22. First pringing."
Also, this is a large, heavy, book 12" x 12 " x 1.75". I advise storing flat or creating a support for the text block.

Sandman geek here. I have the series in comic book form, tpb, and 'absolute'. I looked at this and the size justifies the cost and I may be tempted on sale but not for full msrp. I'm waiting to see if they print more...I'd hate the sink the money and it stops after one or two books (of 15-20 issues each) when you would want a guarantee of all 75 issues in the original sandman vertigo run.

On sale now, probably won't last much longer, better grab it if you are on the fence. With that said, I wouldn't count on any others being published by Easton Press, as they have a bad habit of doing book 1, and no more of a series.

Seeing the sale books in the new catalog, wow, there's a bunch. Wonder how long it will run.
