- follows the origin stories of teen contestants from all over the world are taken from their families and trained/recruited as assassins to compete against each other in a competition where they each represent different groups/organisations that must compete (at the end of the world I think)

- Follows their lives right before getting taken/recruited
- Each chapter is a pov/first person & narrative perspective of each contestant’s life weeks/months before getting recruited/taken by their respective organisations. Chapter ends when they eventually get taken/recruited and moves onto the next contestant.
- Origin of all characters is pretty tragic
- The stakes/reason for the competition/birth of the competition is explained at the beginning of the book
- One contestant runs away from their organisation and falls in love with a rich girl at a boarding school before getting caught by their organisation and having their family & lover murdered then is forced to end up joining.
