Since Bookmooch is essentially defunct I’ve started hunting the books on my want list from online sellers. This week received Legendary Route 66 and Dinner at Mr. Jefferson’s.

Another historical novel ARC for a book to be published November 2023: The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon.
She took a real, lesser-known person from history & used the woman as her main character rather than simply basing her own character on this woman. Not sure how I feel about that.
A Midwife's Tale by Laurel Thatcher Ulrich, a work of nonfiction, is where I learned who Martha Ballard was.

My first book purchase of the month: Season of the Gods by Robert Matzen is a brand new historical novel about the making of the movie Casablanca.
He also wrote the nonfiction work Dutch Girl about Audrey Hepburn.
