About 10 years ago I read some kids/young adult novels with a girl that moves into a house/mansion to find that house is constantly changing and often to meet her needs - locations of rooms, number, what's inside, adding/removing a wing, etc... I also think (and I could be confusing things) that she finds half the house exists in another world and rooms come and go from there. I also have a vague memory of a griffon/gryphon being involved. If I remember correctly this is a series of books and not a standalone novel. Does anyone have any thoughts on what this book could be?

This sounds a bit like House of many ways of the Howl's Castle series by Diana Wynne Jones, As far as I remember there ar no gryphons in this book, however, there's a whole family of gryphons in the Derkholm series by the same author.

Tuesdays at the Castle by Jessica Day George? It's a castle and she doesn't move in, she was born there, but the rest matches.

Some overlap with Rose Daughter by Robin McKinley.

>3 antqueen: I second Tuesdays at the Castle. The Castle Glower series has an important griffon character(as seen on the cover of Wednesdays in the Tower).

Description largely applies to Moonheart and related novels by Charles de Lint.

I'm late to the party. Seconding (thirding) suggestions for the Castle Glower series and Howl's Moving Castle series.
