Hello there!
This is my first time posting here and I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm searching for a very specific One Thousand and One Nights book from my childhood and a friend recommended that I check here. Here's what I remember about it:
- The title was called "One Thousand and One Nights" or "Arabian Nights".
- It's a fictional book filled with Middle Eastern folktales.
- I read it some time between 1997-2003, unsure when it was published.
- Intended audience could have been children, but anyone would enjoy these stories.
- I read it in the United States.
- I remember the book being bigger than a normal chapter book for kids.
- I think there was a decorative border around the cover of the book.
- The art inside was gorgeous. I think the artist used water color.
- The two genies in the book were different colors. I think one was green (or blue?) and the other was pink/violet.
- I remember two different stories involving genies (one from a lamp, one from a ring).
- There is also a picture of Morgiana (before or after) pouring the boiling oil into the jars containing the forty thieves.
- I believe you can see one thief peeking out of a jar in the same picture.
This is about all I can remember from the book. I really hope someone is able to help me find this specific One Thousand and One Nights book. I would love to own it again one day, but I haven't been able to find it for years. I'll continue my search in the meantime.

I found it! If I knew all I had to do was post here and I'd find it a few hours later, I would have done that years ago! LOL, I have more books from my past to find, but this one has been discovered! It's called Aladdin and the Magic Lamp (includes Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves) by Carol Krenz, published by Tormont Publications Inc. back in 1995. I found the book online and ordered it, but I found some scans of the pages to prove it is, in fact, the right book! All of the pictures ring all the bells and I was even able to see the illustration of the purple genie! Definitely the right book.
