I remember it was about a murder on a mountain top, there was a family that lived in a big mansion at the top of the mountain and a detective came to visit for whatever reason and someone was killed while he was there. They would have sent for police, but there was a wildfire at the base of the mountain blocking the only road up or down and the fire was coming up the mountain. The family and detective thought they would be killed by the wildfire but wanted to at least solve the mystery before then. I don’t really remember who was killed or who did it, but I know the author was very descriptive and painted a very vivid picture in my mind. I don’t remember much else but I’ve tried looking it up so many times but I only get generic ‘murder on the mountain’ suggestions. Thanks!
