Agreed. A jet stream speed of 800 mph, however, also makes me wonder if the jet aircraft's wings are in danger of being ripped off on leaving the jet stream.

In my previous work with the LT Sustainability group, I did read that around 300 mph is the upper limit for tornadoes on Earth. At that time I never realized that Earth's jet streams could easily exceed that speed. Wowsers.
