For those that might be in the area at the time, the Manhattan Rare Books and Fine Press Fair is happening on April 6th 2024. Last year there were many beautiful and interesting works on display, and many of those presses are returning, including some that often pop up here like Deep Wood Press, Midnight Paper Sales, Intima Press, etc. (edited to add, full list of exhibitors).

This year I'll have a table there with copies of my books, including:

- Standard and Deluxe prototypes of Treasure Island and proof pages.
- A finished copy of Flowers for Algernon Standard and the Deluxe prototype.
- A finished copy of the Roman Numeral Faun.
- Prototypes of the first Weird. volume which will open for pre-orders later in April.
- And finally, the prototype for an unannounced book.

Tickets are available on EventBrite here and please message me for a 50% off discount code if you're attending.

From the website:
The Manhattan Rare Book and Fine Press Fair returns to the Upper East Side for one day only, inviting booksellers and bibliophiles from around the world to share their love of antiquarian books, fine press, ephemera, historic photography, and more on Saturday, April 6 in the auditorium of the Church of St. Vincent Ferrer.

“Whether you’re looking for a Jane Austen first edition, a daguerreotype or an artist’s book, we’ve got you covered,” said Jodi Tolan, Director of Operations for Rare Books LA, the new promoter of the book fair.

The Upper East Side will be the epicenter of rare book activity. The Manhattan Rare Book & Fine Press Fair takes place across the street from the Park Avenue Armory, where the Antiquarian Booksellers’ Association of America is hosting the largest antiquarian book fair in the world.

“We are excited to play a part in bringing the book community together and offering a space where a wide variety of material at a range of price points is available,” Tolan said.

The Manhattan Rare Book & Fine Press Fair will feature more than 70 exhibitors, including contemporary book artists who are members of the Fine Press Book Association.

Tickets to the fair are $20.

Thanks for posting this, I was just going to ask if anyone here is presenting or attending. I may hit you up for the discount code, need to see if I'm going to be able to go that weekend.

Hopefully, there will be plenty of fine presses in attendance as opposed to a mass of producers of ‘artist’s books’. But I do know that Plain Wrapper Press Redux are there, so that’s a fine start!! I shall be interested to know the eventual full line up and what the balance of fine press books and artist’s books is

Not sure if I recognize anyone other than Tony and Nawakum press, clearly I’m not deep enough in the fine press rabbit hole :/

>5 ChestnutPress: Do you have a link to that? I'm still weighing the travel options. It's a 5.5 hour drive for me, with flights and train travel a bit excessive financially. I'd rather save that money to spend on books!

I've updated my post to add the link to the full list of exhibitors, and here it is for convenience: https://rarebooksla.com/index.php/new-york-exhibitors/.

>2 Shadekeep: >8 edkennedy: If you make it please do stop by and say hi. Same goes for everyone else.

While I won't have books to send home with anyone, if someone wishes to purchase a book I have in stock back in Ontario I will ship it to them for free the moment I get back.

>7 CenSur: Tideline Press, Two Ponds Press, Deep Wood Press, Nawakum Press, Richard Wagener/Mixolodian Editions, Midnight Paper Sales, Plain Wrapper Press Redux and Prototype Press all do really fine work. Plus I see that the exceptional fine bookbinder Sol Rebora from Argentina is there and her work is superb!

>9 CTPress-Tony: Thanks kindly!

>10 ChestnutPress: Yes, a good slate of attendees! I expected that Mindy from Intima Press would be in attendance, her artist books are truly art.

A special binding of In the Penal Colony will be exhibited there by Chad from Deep Wood Press. Attendees will get to see it before I do.

How convenient! This just so happens to fall on a day I was already planning to be in NYC. Conversation Tree Press being there and only $10 for a ticket makes this a no brainer!
