LT desktop view???

At the risk of sounding woefully computer or at least LT illiterate... :(

I use LT on a laptop, no smart phone; in the last few years LT has at least twice changed the view format to apparently make it more and more smart phone friendly for viewing, but for me it makes viewing on my laptop terrible, fonts and page view much too large, data not where it used to be. etc. Is there a way to change the format/view back to the original from a few years back?

For me, the Desktop & Mobile view options at the bottom of the page change nothing (?)

>1 vaniamk13: Aside from desktop view, there's a number of style options. 'Change Style' option at the bottom of each page. Try them out and see what works best for you. They are not just different fonts, but sizes too

>1 vaniamk13: Nope - you cannot change it back to how it was and a lot of data got moved around - we just need to get used to where it is now. If you cannot find something, just post here and ask and someone will assist.

And if the desktop/mobile does not change anything, you are already on the desktop version (that switch is only doing something on the mobile version).

As >2 SandraArdnas: mentioned, you may want to play with the styles and see if one of them suits you better. But other from that, the site changes and even when some things are not to our liking, it is what it is :(

I think the closest style to the old version is called "The Lorax."

>5 vaniamk13: I don't remember by now what changed WHERE data is displayed, aside from Series and Awards no longer a part of CK and getting their own modules, but if it is something on the work page, perhaps it's worth noting you can rearrange the modules there. There's a link at the very bottom of each work page. If it's Series and Awards you have trouble finding, you can pull them higher on the work page. They are now among the modules there.

Confirming that "The Lorax" is the closest we can get to the original display, and that "Desktop View" does nothing if you're actually on a desktop/laptop; it only functions on a phone/tablet.

"you can rearrange the modules there. There's a link at the very bottom of each work page"
>6 SandraArdnas: can you show me a screen shot of where to find that link? I've tried click-and-drag on the module title & can't get them to rearrange. I often add Common Knowledge to the books I enter, & now it is hidden & requires me to search it out each time.

The work page has just been updated.

>8 juniperSun: There’s now a “Customize View” button at the bottom of the page, or the bottom of the right-hand column, depending on your view. Look in the bottom right corner of the screenshot in today’s blog post about the new work page: https://blog.librarything.com/2025/01/new-work-page/

>8 juniperSun: To add to >10 Charon07:, make sure to turn on 'Always show empty sections' button at the top in Customize View if you want these sections to always show. Otherwise, they'll be hidden and relegated to the bottom when they are empty.
