this is a book i read within the last 10 years. the story follows a woman who works with a bear in a circus. the circus lives and travels on a series of boats, as land has become a scarce commodity. eventually she meets a woman who is a kind of cemetery keeper. boats come to her to leave their dead in an ocean graveyard. our main character ultimately decides to leave the circus and live with the cemetery keeper.
