I had an order from Daedalus come in today. The box was beaten all to heck by UPS but books are ok.
The Shores of Bohemia by John Taylor Williams
The Woman in the Library by Sulari Gentill
13 Ways of Looking at the Novel by Jane Smiley
The Man in the Red Coat by Julian Barnes
I had looked for the Smiley for several years and finally bit the bullet since it never turned up used anywhere. I met her when it first came out and she was promoting it. She seemed to have some social anxiety.

>1 varielle: I own the Gentill (that cover!) and the Smiley.
And today I bought a book and brought home an ARC.
I purchased the 3rd book in a mystery series: The Queen of Poisons by Robert Thorogood.
And this ARC of a speculative mystery being published in August has a great title and cover: Voyage of the Damned by Frances White.

Could not resist a humorous mystery ARC, to be published 9/24: The Serial Killer Guide to San Francisco by Michelle Chouinard.

From NYRB I got The Singularity by Dino Buzzatti.
From the FoL I got The Cuisine of the Rose by Mirielle Johnston despite having sworn off buying cookbooks. French food is soooo good.

I ordered a couple of books this week, but have only bought one: Time Shelter by Georgi Gospodinov, translated by Angela Rodel. Won the International Booker for 2023.

Dang. Found an out-of-production TV series DVD I've wanted for years used online (at what was probably its price when new, but cheaper than I've seen it anywhere else ever) & I took the fact that the seller was from my state as a sign.
And since I was making a purchase anyway, I bought one other item already in my cart: How Miss Rutherford Got Her Groove Back by Sophie Barnes. It's a historical romance I never saw new. Apparently it was an exclusive to a department store I don't shop at.
And now, having looked at a couple of LT reviews, I'm regretting it. I saw it recommended somewhere, which must not have been here.

An ARC with multiple timelines by an author I have bought but not yet read: The Story Collector by Evie Woods (pub 8/24).

One ARC: The Life Impossible by Matt Haig (pub 9/24).
And two bought books:
* Citizen Orlov by Jonathan Payne (satirical historical fiction)
* The Keeper of Hidden Books by Madeline Martin (WWII historical fiction).

According to LT, Italo Calvino's Our Ancestors includes two books I own & one I didn't -- until today.
Picked up The Cloven Viscount.

Ordered and received Nobody Said not to go by Ken Cuthbertson
While on vacation I found Atlas Six by Olivie Blake recommended by several book tube channels.
Also found Cleopatra and Frankenstein by Coco Mellors because I’d seen it on the shelf in a decorating show and it looked interesting.

Grabbed an ARC I'm pretty sure no one else would take: _Cowpuppy An Unexpected Friendship and a Scientist's Journey into the Secret World of Cows_ by Gregory Berns (pub 8/24).

Free from a LFL Knole and the Sackvilles and The Philosophy of the Enlightenment.

And, perhaps the lamest reason for taking an ARC home: I love the Arts & Crafts style font on the cover.
The Maid and the Crocodile by Jordan Ifueko (pub 8/24, children's fantasy).
