I was just looking up Eric Hazan to find out more about him, as I have a copy of one of his books TBR, and I notice he was actually born in July 1936 (so he was 87).

I’ve returned temporarily to acknowledge the passing of Texas renaissance man Kinky Friedman on June 27 at the age of 79. Singer-songwriter, novelist, politician, poet, columnist, and humorist his books include Elvis, Jesus and Coca-Cola, Armadillos & Old Lace, The Love Song of J. Edgar Hoover, Roadkill and many more. He was one of a kind. RIP. Say hello to Molly Ivins when you get there.
