No, not like that.

DAW, 1977, Paul Lehr.
Obligatory GD "out standing in his field" joke.
This is the first of MANY that Admin and Tag refused to use since I submitted them SIX (6) years ago after Worldcon 2018.
I have a few from before this batch, and even more after, from cons and bookstores, plus so many Laser Books.

The smaller moon appears to be glitching.
Also, does that spike rotate or can't he move his head?

Someone hit the "paste" button down too many times on that moon.
Now I also wonder about # bubblehelmet. Doesn't look like he can turn his neck -- no join/seal -- which will make his overly-large weapon hard to aim.
Maybe this is just his trading card picture and he wears something less fancy when fighting. Because gold lame, a giant red weapon, and inability to turn his head seems bad for his effectiveness as a foot soldier.
It was 1977; perhaps he's going to the space disco.

He's still mad he lost his girl to a much less overdressed Starship Trooper.

Obviously disco culture and norms were firmly established by 1977 or they wouldn't have made the movie. And everyone had already learned to do The Hustle* in 1975.
His flamboyant presentation might be more representative of the earlier gay discos in NYC, before the straights got hold of it. If there was a picture of him 10 years later, he'd probably have gone full "Paris Is Burning". I'm saying dude's a gay Afro-Latino.
Which would horrify them. Especially in 1961, when this at least got Bonestell(!) and Emsh covers.
Re the back blurb, it's technically correct, in that it had been out of print for 7 years, sez ISFDB.
