I am a new member. I have saved but one book. Am trying to read it. Nowhere is there prompts or instructions on how to read the contents of a saved book. Your help is greatly appreciated. Garypederson83@yahoo.com

You cannot.

Librarything is a cataloging site, not a library site. It does not host the books - it allows people to list their catalogs. See https://www.librarything.com/about about more details about what LT is.

Welcome to the site and I hope you find it useful even if it is not what you expected it to be.

Hi there, Gary!

If you want to read a book from your phone or computer, you might want to look into Libby — it requires a library card, but allows you to "check out" books from your home and read or listen to them on your phone or computer.

LibraryThing is for cataloging — it's basically a really fancy version of a list. You can use LibraryThing to keep track of books you own, books you've read, and books you want to buy or read, and you can talk about those books as well. But you can't read books here. Just like I can't read a book by writing its name on a paper list, adding a book to your library on this website won't let you read it either.

If you want to stick around, we'd love to have you! But unfortunately this isn't a place where you can read books.
