I need something to read!

I am an empty nester now and have time to enjoy reading again. I have mostly read non fiction business books, but want some fiction so I can get lost in a great story. I'm not into those romance novels with the half naked muscled men on the covers. A few movies that is like are "The Age of Adaline", "The Adjustment Bureau", and then action movies. I guess a touch of science fiction with romance with those movies.... Any books along those lines would be entertaining.

If you like action and sci-fi with a great story, you might try the Murderbot books by Martha Wells. Start with All Systems Red. It's a novella, so if you don't like it then at least it didn't take very long

Welcome to empty nesting!
Project Hail Mary is one of the best sci-fi books I’ve ever read. It’s written by Andy Weir who also wrote The Martian. No romance, though.
I just finished The Games Gods Play which uses Greek mythology as a base, features a beautifully flawed but strong female protagonist, and hot romance. It’s a young adult book, but we’re all young at heart, aren’t we?
Then there is the ultimate fantasy romance book series by Rebecca Yarros: Forth Wing. Again, a strong female protagonist, dragons, romance, and love scenes that’ll make your toes curl.
Happy reading!

The Gargoyleby Andrew Davidson. Shame he only has one book out. Mistress of Art of Deathby Ariana Franklin. Great Historical Fiction with some romance and detective work centering around the Middle Ages.

If you catalog any of the fiction books you have read, many of them will have recommendations attached and that can be a good way to find new stuff.
