this listing claims canonical title is "speech on conciliation"; offers no other titles , such as:
on conciliation
conciliation w/ america
conciliation w/ colonies
on conciliation with....
etc
a glance at editions shows various titles, as does glance at covers. Ive spent an hour searching for definitive title and there seems to be none. "speech on conciliation" seems the least likely.
meanwhile, there are several variations straggled about LT that could be combined.
I propose the removal of the canonical - unless there is a necessity for it;
in the reverse, I propose a change of the canonical;
at very least a more complete listing of alternatives- so that the stragglers can be combined; excluding, titles that share jointly with more than a single work.

"Stragglers" can be combined even without a listing of alternatives. Feel free to add titles you think are appropriate to the "Alternative titles" field in CK.

To what?

Is there a pressing need for the canonical? Does t serve a purpose?
Since, Burke does not seem to have left us a definitive title ( without seeing the original document)
I would propose "on conciliation with America" as the most recognised - though we were not yet- America- we were still the colonies.
I happily concede: "on conciliation with the colonies" as a choice.
The whole "on" thing- though it lingers as title's beginning - isn't as necessarily part of the title - in the same manner that "Conciliation" is.
It seems that many of the variations just included "Burke's" or "on" as part of the title of their publications. I don't know how it is currently being labeled; "on conciliation with America" was a formerly recognisable title. If I were to publish my posts (and, no I wouldn't) I might title them as "Posts" or "My Posts" but, eventually, they would be called "Egbertina's Posts", as though that were the complete original title.
I will begin combining and adding additional titles. I just think "Speech On Conciliation" needs some sort of evidence that it is Burke's original title, if it is to be labeled canonical.
Perhaps a canonical is un-necessary for this work.

I just think "Speech On Conciliation" needs some sort of evidence that it is Burke's original title,
I think the difficulty is that Burke didn't give it a title. He gave a speech in Parliament on the subject, which was subsequently published in different editions. So there really isn't any "canonical" title.
I have found a 1775 publication that calls it The speech of Edmund Burke, Esq; on moving his resolutions for conciliation with the colonies, March 22, 1775:: https://quod.lib.umich.edu/e/ecco/004895777.0001.000/1:3?rgn=div1;view=fulltext That is probably as close as we'll get to a "canonical title".

From the Wiki on CK canonical titles:
“Normally, calculation is the answer.” That is, let LT calculate the most common title used on the site. Canonical title is usually not needed and often better left blank.
“The goal is the most general, common and accepted form in the language of the site, not the most ‘correct.’”

I removed the canonical title, and recalculated, which gives Burke's Speech on Conciliation with America
