Girl who has strong powers is somewhat hidden from society and never leaves her house. Parents arrange a marriage with another House that are warriors. Girl can winnow and ends up being a wyrm (I think) and the boy she's supposed to marry uses her as bait in another scheme. Boy's mom died saving the girl as a kid

I think he nicknamed her bird

Hey, have been checking in every now and then just WAITING to see if this book is ever found. I feel that we are searching for the same book and so thought I’d add in my remembrance of some sub plots.

***SPOILERS***

Firstly I feel one unique characteristic/description of the girl is that she is very unliking to pants and being constricted in her clothes. So she prefers dresses and being barefoot.

The sister of the boy is punished and made blind by the “gods” in this book, following the mother’s death.

The boy takes the girl out into society once and she tricks him into thinking all she wants to do is ride the underground train, but, using her winnow powers she gets into the city’s underground catacombs where she feels answers to her powers lay.

***PLOT SPOILER***
After the reveal of her being a wyrm/ having the spirit of one, the boy finds that he is a wyrm tamer and so she is captured to have her wyrm identity kept secret. They manage this by faking her death

***END OF SPOILERS***
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, if you have found this book let me know as I’d really appreciate it. I can not for the life of me get it out of my head and just want to know how the story progresses
