Egad. Is that ink & paper? The color is so saturated (and the style so inhuman) that I suspect it of just being a thumbnail image for an ebook. But yikes. Where is the RAH estate on this? Asleep at the switch, I guess.

I keep coming back to marvel at this. It's probably the worst book cover art I have ever seen. I mean, really gross.

This has gotta be AI generated, likely with some touch-up by someone who has terrible taste in art. Nightmarish. And what's with the whiskers?
The RAH estate definitely needs to put the kibosh on this. I've no idea how to contact them though.
This cover would have at least temporarily been in the top 10 back at the old place. (If ebooks had been allowed there) I recognize several of the ones on Reddit, like our old horrific friend Carnaki.

As someone on the reddit site said, this was created by someone with some knowledge of the story. The Martian has the right number of arms and legs, and the kids are wearing skates, which is plot-relevant (they spend part of the tale travelling by skating along frozen Martian canals). They have personalized breathing masks (which they should be wearing, both to breathe and spare us from looking at them) and are packing heat. There's no excuse of ignorance here.

Is this a Cain and Abel retelling? One child bring the acceptable sacrifice, the other not so much.

>7 MrsLee: But which one's which?
I agree that this does have elements of the story in, but did the kids have to be Cabbage Patch Dolls? I think not. They could still have been cartoony, but not like this.
