Found: Adventour story of mouse/rat with red plane

I read the book as a kid in the late 2000s in German - for what it's worth the book was a hard cover with a lot of blue and a red plane (sort of like a red baron). The main character was a mouse (or rat) who has a cosy life, but meets an explorer she-mouse. She goes off to make a map about a new land in her own plane, and he comes out of his shell and goes after her. Grateful for any pointers :)
