Happy February, everyone! What are you reading this month? I'm kicking things off with Penric's Demon by Lois McMaster Bujold and already loving it. Please share what you're reading or planning to read below!

Happy February! I am currently reading The Trackers by Charles Frazier, it's a little slow to get going but I still have hopes for this one.

I start the month with 4 books on-the-go: Circling the Sun by Paula McLain is my physical book, The Ride of Her Life by Elizabeth Letts is my e-book, and The Promise by Damon Galgut is my audio book. I also picked up a hold at the library the other day which I'm about to start - More or Less Maddie by Lisa Genova.

I finished Somebody to Love by Matt Richards and Mark Langthorne yesterday, and reached in the same bag to get a book about rock heroes, The Last Days of John Lennon by James Patterson. I'm intrigued that Patterson wrote about Lennon.

Also have on my to-read pile The Queen's Gambit and Bride by Ali Hazelwood, both recommendations.

I am currently reading The Poet by Yi Munyol, which a colleague lent to me. It is interesting, but very slow.

I am also listening to The Wrong One by Dervla McTiernan, a highly gripping crime story.

I've begun Misdirected by Lucy Parker. It's an audiobook, which is a format I'm not used to, and I'm finding it a bit difficult to get into. But Lucy Parker is an autobuy author for me, so I'm optimistic that I'll still end up loving it!

Next up for me is Kristen Britain's Mirror Sight, book #5 in the Green Rider series. At 784 pages, I'm sure it'll take a while!

I started off the month with a few thrillers, mostly recently Incidents Around the House for the ScaredyKIT. I'm currently lightening it up with Now Is Not the Time to Panic, and I have Tom Lake on hold at the library. Books I'm considering for Kits/CATs are The Vaster Wilds and The Ministry of Time.

I'm reading Pamela Frankau's A Wreath for the Enemy for the author with your name bingo square. I've had a few false starts with the Pamelas, including Pamela Hansford Johnson's The Impossible Marriage. Her The Unspeakable Skipton is worth reading, however.

I'm also reading The Sermon on the Fall of Rome by Jerome Ferrari, which is slow going because it's dense and philosophical. It won the Prix Goncourt. The third book I'm reading is Sanctuary by Garry Disher.

I'm reading The Maias by Eca de Queiros who also wrote The Crime of Father Amaro. It's on my wish list (since Father Amaro, which I really enjoyed) and is >500 pages so will be the first entry in my long books category.

>30 NinieB: The Margaret Jull Costa translation of The Crime of Father Amaro is a good read. De Queiros was a worldly, progressive, broad-minded man - sardonic, witty and anti-clerical. His writing style seems quite modern.
