Recently when scanning barcodes I am getting multiple codes registered from a single scan of one code. If any match a database then all the titles are added.
So I find myself having to delete 1-3 titles erroneously added for every accurate scan/addition.
I have a screen-capture of a sample scan that turned into 4 codes:
1 accurate
1 random book
2 "no books found"

>1 memeweaver: Are you able to post your screen-capture, or perhaps email it to us at info@librarything.com?
You can upload your screen-capture by adding a picture from your Profile page > go to "Add Picture" on the right > You can select the "Junk drawer" from the "To where?" dropdown, so the image isn't added as your profile picture. Then, either link directly to the uploaded image in your post (e.g. https://www.librarything.com/pic/9687365) or you can use the img src tag in HTML to embed it into your post.

Scans on two different days, each of a single barcode.
Here are the barcodes scanned that produced these results:

Those are great captures, thank you! I'll pass this to our developers so they can prod at them.

Thanks for the examples. We'll definitely take a look and use those.

Another scan adds two books: https://www.librarything.com/pic/11728394
When I tried to delete the second incorrect book, the app crashed. https://www.librarything.com/pic/11728397

I upgraded my phone a few weeks ago and still have this problem.

New user here. I have a related question on scanning with the Android app. Is there a way to have the app wait until I tap the Scan button before trying to search? Currently when I activate the barcode reader, it keeps scanning and searching multiple times. Most of the time it gets wrong codes and reports no results. Once I got the two additions of the same book that @mikewilliams64 reported and upon left-swipe of the duplicate, the app crashed. Another time it got so many captures that I was prompted to clear the app's cache. I did so but the constant scan/search problem remained. I couldn't find a Settings button for the app.

>8 OldGuyInTheClub: Great question; we don't have a way to force manual scan (by tapping a button only), but I'll run it by the developers. Maybe it's something to consider for the next major update.

Still getting false scan results and the app crashing when I try to delete the erroneous books added.
I also had several books that appeared to be correctly identified but were assigned the wrong ISBN, so when I went to my desktop browser to finish entry, all the metadata (but ISBN) appeared to be correct but it was associated to a completely different title's LT record. Thankfully manual update to the ISBN was all that was needed to fix this.

Still not fixed.

yep, now and then a false scan seems to happen, I can accept that. But that the app crashes when trying to delete it then is annoying. The workaround is to do that in the browser but still.
