Hello, yet again I can remember most of the plot but not the title. :)
Want to say it was a book from the 70s or 80s.
A teen girl runs away to an abandoned cabin in a holler (Appalachia?) where she becomes self-sufficient, growing her own garden and raising rabbits to sell for meat after finding books at the library about it. I believe there was a part where she had to travel to another town, living in a tent within a park and hiding there for a few days. (This part I may have mixed in from another book, but I’m pretty sure it’s the same one). Mostly I remember how much she pushed to maintain her privacy and solitude while remaining self-sufficient, despite needing help from a neighbor to get her rabbits to market in his truck.
Any ideas?
