This was a fiction murder mystery book I read as a child (though I think it was intended for adults). It was a rather old book, somewhere between 1950 and 1990, I should think.
The plot follows a police man who is summoned when there is a murder in a small town. It's the murder of a rather wealthy man, who was putting on a one-man play or something for his family where he was murdered. The family thought it was part of the play. The murdered man's daughter's fiancee is the one who done it, and in a climactic moment near the end, tries to kill her too. Additionally, there is a family friend (I think he's bald?), and a sweet shop which has had poison chocolates implanted in it.
I read this in English, which I'm fairly certain is the original language.
My copy was very old and worn, small, paperback, and on the cover was a nicely done picture that most notably had green capsules on it (like medicine), which was the mode of murder as far as I can remember.
