Currently working on Gravity Lost (underwhelmed so far). The Weimar Century and Tito's Secret Empire is next.

Now picking at Nemesis Games. About to start George Washington Carver.

I have about 50 pages left to go in How Good It is I have no Fear of Dying: Lieutenant Yulia Mykytenko's fight for Ukraine. This a very moving biography of a young woman who joined the army to defend her country.

>3 fredbacon: NPR had a good story about her the other day!

I have 90 pages to go in Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill. I've been enjoying being terrified by it, just haven't had a lot of time to read.

I'm about 170 pages into Tony Judt's excellent but very long (818 pages) history, Postwar: A History of Europe Since 1945. The book is broken up into four main sections, and I'm thinking that when I get to the end of the first section (the longest, at 240 pages), I will set Postwar aside and read something else, and then alternate the reading of each of the remaining three sections in this way. I'll see how I feel when I get to the end of Section One.

I am listening to The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver. When the book came out many eons ago, I tried to read it, but couldn't get interested in it. Now I'm listening to the audiobook and can barely tear myself away.

In the land of paper books I started Han Kang's The Vegetarian today. I haven't got very far yet.

>4 PaperbackPirate: Thanks for mentioning the NPR story. If anyone is interested in it you can find the NPR story online. The book is very good. My only issue is that the book is written in the 1st person as if Yulia had written it herself. From a narrative perspective, it is a strong move, but does it fully reflect her views? Did she get to proofread the book for accuracy? Does she share in the profits from the book? Even with these reservations, I still consider it a great read.

I’m Glad My Mom Died
Jennette McCurdy
4/5 stars
Jeanette McCurdy was a child/teen actor in iCarly and other series. She talks about her career and life with her overbearing mother. Interesting read but sad because of her life with her mom. Biographies/Memoirs
