Read it more than 10 years ago so the details are vague. Set during World War 1 or 2 and it was about a carrier pigeon. I believe it was in the perspective of the bird but Im not a 100% sure on that part now. The cover at the time was blue and white with leaves or maybe feathers on the cover.
Does it possibly ring a bell for anyone?

>1 MiserableFlower: Gay Neck: The Story of a Pigeon by Dhan Gopal Mukerji, perhaps? Published in 1927, it won the Newbery Medal in 1928, and told the story of a carrier pigeon before, during and after WWI.
It looks like there is a light blue cover on a more recent edition.

>1 MiserableFlower:
This probably isn’t what you’re looking for (different cover, too recent), but it’s a wonderful book.
Cher Ami and Major Whittlesey, by Kathleen Rooney. The title characters (the first is the carrier pigeon) alternate narrating chapters.
