No idea for how long the book had been existing but read it in the mid 2010s when I was in my early teens. Can't recall the title or author but it was fiction and revolved around a small town/village and school going children ( I think) the school was probably held in the church and the teacher's name was Miss O Connor/conner. One of the boy kid had Auburn hair and was called by it I believe and also there was most probably a character called Sylvia whose husband was alcoholic(maybe)
Idk if it's my imagination but one of the chapters was titled "Sylvia rings the bell" or "Bring in the Sheaves" one of these lol. Also i remember the place Missouri or Missourie being mentioned. I'm guessing it was probably set in America
I read and reread this when I was young but idk how I lost the book and can't for the life of me recall the title even though I loved it so much, just the vague details remain. I've been searching everywhere for almost a decade now. Any leads will be really really appreciated and valued. Thank you.

I don't have any book suggestions, but in case it helps your search: Missouri is the correct spelling, and yes, that's in the U.S. (Good memory!)
Might it have been a one-room school instead of a church? They were used as late as the 1950s! But in the early days, sometimes the same building would be used both as a school and for church services. Here is an article on the subject, maybe it will spark some more memories: https://www.nps.gov/ozar/learn/historyculture/one-room-schools-in-the-ozarks.htm
