Found: Fluffy creatures with colorful eyes

I’m looking for a novel that I read around 2012 that had two fluffy white creatures that had colorful eyes. There were three perspectives in the novel; one was a man that “found” the fluffy creatures, if you’d consider them running around his yard to be finding them; the second was a veterinarian, veterinary student, or a veterinary technician that worked with large animals and witnessed animals acting strangely, and I forgot what the third perspective was. I believe that the FBI becomes involved at one point.
I was pretty sure it was a John Grisham novel but I can’t seem to find any information that lines up with the book in mind.
