Three horns, six limbs, eight whiskers, two ears, a tail - this guy has a lot to think about on a regular basis, plus being on fire.

Somebody decided Baphomet needed a dash of Cthulhu.

...and it is so metal. Truly impressive.

I hope his forehead is a tattoo. Imagine having to draw it straight every morning after the nights he has..

I suspect the younger demons find this a bit cringe.
I'm not quite sure how you get "harnesses the demons of the underworld for a raid on the universe" from "releases the demons of the underworld, entirely loses control of the situation, and brings about the apocalypse", but I suppose it has fewer words.

>5 bam2001: Yeah. It sometimes feels like the world is full of bad blurbs on good books. I swear sf publishers used to go out of their way to make sure that the people who wrote jacket copy never actually read the books.

I once read an sf book where the blurber seemed to have the opposite idea from the author about who were the heroes and the villains of the story.

>5 bam2001: "Cringe" was my thought as well. My dude, you are trying way too hard. Dial it down. The tail is so small compared to the rest of him -- I didn't even notice till @EndofDiskOne mentioned it. Is he overcompensating with the muscles, fire, and tats?
Was the artist really impressed by a late 70's minivan (shag carpet in back, natch) blaring metal from the 8-track? Or was this image indeed, on his minivan? (I am 99.999999999% sure Mr. Blish never owned one.)
\m/ is clearly the sign the demon is throwing with his right hand.
(bangs head, realizes it's not a good idea at my age)
