What are your thoughts on the EP edition of Lorna Doone versus the Franklin Library, Heritage Press, and Folio Society editions?

I'll have to go to the book case and see which versions I have. I have at leaste one of those editions, but have yet to read it.

>2 sdawson:, I’m trying to figure out which edition to get. I like the looks of the FS edition, but, want one that will last a long time, so, am leaning towards Franklin Library or Easton Press.

I can't quite lay my hands on mine. I have the Heritage Press version somewhere in this house, according to my LT records.

Uggh, searched everywhere with a flashlight on the books, still can't find it. However, I did find the 1974 LEC edition of 'Brave New World' which had been misplaced, and I have moved that back to where it belongs.
I recall pulling Lorna Doone some years ago to read the first chapter, and I obviously did not put it back where it belongs.
But for longevity, the HP editions have all held up well, as have the EP and Franklin versions.

>1 Bibliophile-I: I have the EP Famous Edition with the illustrations of John Austen; this is the same as Macy’s Heritage Press. I prefer the illustrations of Wheelright & Sewell in the Franklin Library. Illustrations are very decent in the slipcased cloth Folio Society edition, is plentiful and yours for $20 or less.
