I'm here! I run Robert McCammon's website and social media pages. I've been a fan since reading THEY THIRST back 1981.

I'm not a horror fan. Would I like Boy's Life?

That is awesome. I am zipping through his works and about halfway through the Corbett books. Currently on Swan Song. Just finished Gone South. Will be starting on River of Souls next to get back to the Corbett stories. Normally don't like to mix single titles with series...but I prefer hard cover and some of them are expensive and hard to find.

That is upcoming in line on my list. Have not read it yet...but I heard it is truly a gem.

>5 Cecrow: Boy's Life is not horror. The publisher tried to market it as horror, but it's not. It's a coming of age novel with some magical realism.

Personally, I don't see how anyone could not like Boy's Life. :) It's my favorite novel by any author. I highly recommend it!

You're right, Joligula, it's hard to find a lot of the hardcovers. It's a long story involving rights and publishers and stupidity. ;-)

I hope you enjoy Swan Song and The River of Souls!

Swan Song is a pretty good story. I am hoping the series does it justice...but with TV today (which I try to avoid at all cost) I will not get my hopes up.

>10 Joligula:

That's OK. The series isn't likely to happen. They haven't been able to find a studio or network interested. Apparently, the glut of post-apocalyptic shows over the past few years has soured them on Swan Song, even though it's a very different kind of story.

Just finished the Corbett series. I cannot say enough about the ending of Leviathan. I finished Leviathan while staying in a cabin with only an oil lamp for light and a cup of coffee. I turned the lamp off, walked out under the stars and dare I say...I shed a tear. Damned if I did not feel a hand on my shoulder and it was Corbett standing beside me staring at the stars...telling me "It's okay to cry." The journey is over but will never be forgotten. I went bonkers after the character development in writing a single book. I can't imagine what Mr. McCammon went through when this series was finished.

>12 Joligula:, had a good chuckle imagining that being your reaction to Thomas Hobbes, lol. It's only a minor mistake, you linked to the wrong Leviathan.

>13 Cecrow: LOL. Yeah. I caught that... And thanks. I was distracted and not paying attention.
