I scrolled this up and down a few times looking for Kelly Freas's signature. It's gotta be there somewhere.

>3 haydninvienna: This is actually a good book! Had it in this Michael Whelan cover myself.
Although I'm not sure on the perspective/depth of field -- I remember fuzzies being a little shorter.

I don't know. That one fuzzy looking over its shoulder has a bit of evil in its expression. I'm not sure those men with guns know what they are in for.

>6 MrsLee: At close quarters, my money's on the fuzzies and their pointy things. Like Ewoks vs the Empire.
I only see one long gun on one of the men. Wait till they pass the hiding place and then stab them in the back, li'l guys.
GSS to @EndofDiskOne for pointing out how the men look like they have sweaters tied around their neck. WTF is that even for, especially on Baldie?

It is THE ULTIMATE EVOLUTION of the popped collar, THE SUPREME IDENTIFIER of the Space-WASP of the future.

>9 bam2001: A quick search has the Fuzzies as about a foot tall when sitting on their haunches!
Perhaps these are Giant Anti-Preppie Fuzzies who decided to take direct action against Space WASPs?

The painting is by Michael Whelan; if you search for the book's title paired with the artist's name, you can see the complete painting.
Whelan painted cover art for all three of the Fuzzy books by the original author (Fuzzy Sapiens is the second), as well as Fuzzy Bones by William Tuning and Golden Dream: A Fuzzy Odyssey by Ardath Mayhar.

>11 DisassemblyOfReason: Whelan's cover art may be a bit goofy at times, but it's always very competently done, and there are several covers of his which I am fond of and hit me in the nostalgia when I see them.

Whelan's work in person is breathtaking. He has done some ginormous canvases which don't always translate well to MMPB size, especially those that cheap out on the color grading.

I've never seen originals in person, but Michael Whelan's Works of Wonder is a great art book.

>15 paradoxosalpha: I have that too, but of course getting to go right up to them till they fill your entire field of vision and/or you can make out the brushstrokes is somewhere beyond amazing.
The wraparound cover he did for that Jacksons album was like 6' across, although I think they only used the half with the boys in.
