Can’t name a book I read about 8 years ago. A boy gets sucked into another world with an evil ruler and the world needs his help. The world is kinda medieval with knights and kings and magic. I remember a part where he meets a shapeshifter (I think they were called dopplegangers) that is imprisoned and he helps free him. The shapeshifter also has the ability to dismember limbs without bleeding and reattach them. At the end of the story he saves the world and I think he decides to stay when given the chance to return. I also think the boy is able to see into his own world and knows his parents are looking for him and he’s able to communicate in a way. I can’t remember much else like names or plot points. And no it’s not Narnia.
