Does anyone have any comments to offer concerning 'Sherlock Holmes: The Complete Novels'? I notice there is a limited inventory of only 36 left.

It's elementary. (sorry, couldn't resist).

I don't have it but the thought of limiting myself to just the novels has me much preferring the 3-volume set, which contains the novels and the short stories.

If you want a gorgeously illustrated Sherlock, you can’t beat the signed-by-the-illustrator DLE of Hound of the Baskervilles. It will set you back a minimum of $500 on eBay, though.
I liked the portrait of the hound so much that I wrote the illustrator to see if he had a print for sale, but he replied that he didn’t own the rights to it.

I too have the three volume set. Those are large enough.
I am not a fan of the large omnibus editions of any author. I see it is 688 pages. In my experience the bindings just aren't abel to hold up well as they are read.
I'd look to pick up the individual volumes myself on the secondary market.

>1 uncledaveh: you would do much better getting the 3 volume EP complete short stories and novels in leather for as low as $250 on eBay. This is EPs 100th anniversary edition of Holmes. A wonderful tribute to Conan Doyle’s enduring literary creation. And the original Frederic Dorr Steele B & W illustrations are fabulous.
