Yesterday I received The Complete Kennections by Ken Jennings. I did the review because I knew it was not a quick read.
Here is the review:
I won a copy of The Complete Kennections by Ken Jennings.
I have liked watching Ken Jennings on TV and pleased to win a copy of his book. It is a large book and will take me a long time to read and answer the questions.
There are 5 questions for each question set and they lead to a connection.
Example of #1.
1. Which is the oldest of the six weapons in the board game Clue, dating back to prehistoric times is essentially in its current form? _ _ _ _
2. What crystal is the November birthstone when it's orange, and the state gem of Texas when it's blue? _ _ _ _ _
3. What English first name did Pocahontas adopt on 1616, in honor of a mother of twins from the Bible? _ _ _ _ _ _ _
4. Which Aristophanes comedy is also a nickname for a Baltimore baseball team and a Philadelphia NFL team? _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
5. U2 named its 2005 tour for what hit signal, which begins with Bono counting off "Uno, dos, tres, catorce" in confused Spanish? _ _ _ _ _ _ _
WHAT'S THE KENNECTION?
After one answers the questions, find how they are connected.
There is a space for the reader to write the answer _ _ _ for example.
Answers for each question is at the back of the book.
There are 5000 questions in 1000 puzzles.
This would make a wonderful gift for the person who loves trivia and puzzles.
I will enjoy this book.
I gave it a 5 star rating. The opinions are my own.

I am reading The Sweetness of Water which is on Oprah's favorite list. It is about a small southern town at the end of the Civil War and what happens to former slaves and their white owners. It is well written but I am finding it very depressing and uninspiring right now. That may be me, not the book. It is a fair point to see how both former slaves and their former masters coped since money was now an issue on both sides. Some people you would not expect show courage and compassion for former slaves. And these former slaves are also gentle with some of the white people in town. An entire way of life has been upended for both sets of people.

Almost finished with the The Invasion of the Body Snatchers. It is a read with other members of LT.
I remember having dime store in my small hometown of Monahans, Texas. It was Wackers.

Absolutely loving Think of Me by Frances Liardet. While it does flash back to WWII, particularly dealing with Allied forces in Egypt, the main story takes place in the 70's in a small Hampshire, England, parish.
