I listened to this book about 10 (maybe a bit more) years ago. The girl was about 16 +/- yrs old. It was full of humor. She comes to realize that she can do something. Talk to spirits? See the future? I think it was the first book in a series. Seems like she had a male best friend. It was YA.

Labyrinth Lost by Zoraida Córdova, Shadowshaper by Daniel Jose Older. I thought of the former though the premise isn't exactly the same. The latter comes from a list with Latina Protagonists in YA fantasy

Neither of these. Thank you. They look interesting though so I am going to check them out! I am trying to remember more details.

I think the friend has white hair? Also I think there was something about rain.

Maybe she doesn't have spiritual powers. Maybe she can see or cause natural disasters?

Possibly Child of a Rainless Year by Jane Lindskold

Did not end up being a series.
