Edit Books

I haven't been able to open my books to edit them for 3 days on the app, either on my iphone 15 pro or ipad mini. What happened to the app?

Can you describe exactly what you are doing? Can you not get to the book page at all? Or are you not seeing the "Edit Book" link?

What is your browser and operating system? Are you on an iPhone or Android?

I will say that I have the same iPhone (iOS 18.6.2), and am not having this problem.

I am having this problem also. Running iOS 26.1
I think this might be related to the bug I just reported this morning. Where the link to "view on library thing" from the book detail page in the app is not working for me. The resulting behavior is the same. Just the spinning icon on the screen in both instances.

ETA: also, are you using a VPN? Or, can you try logging out of your LibraryThing account on the App then signing back in?

And another test: can you try loading a book-edit page directly in your mobile browser instead of the LibraryThing App? Open your Safari browser and try to load https://www.librarything.com/work/35171767/edit/299754198 (logged into LibraryThing.com), for example.

I'm having the same problem. I've also got iOS 26.1. I haven't been able to edit books for some weeks now. Please advise. I use the app constantly so I'm way behind updating my books. Thank you!

I have an iphone 17 and I am unable to have the edit books option open up in the application on my phone. I need to head to the website itself in order to 'edit' books. Whenever I select it in the application, it constantly spins and nothing pops up. Is this an issue for anyone else as well? Is there a timeline to implement a fix? Thank you

Hi! I also have this problem. I can't edit my books on my iPhone. IOS 26.2.1. When I press "Edit book" there is a blank page (small grey spinning wheel), but nothing loads. I have to go to the website to edit.

Same problem on iOS 26.2.1 on iPhone 12. Opening "edit" just shows a blank screen.

Ugh… finally decided to get my collection in order and I’m having the same problem. Can’t always be at a computer and want to use my phone when I’m away. Has anyone had any luck lately?

I know there hasn't been a new message here in almost 2 months, but I also see this bug is still unresolved so I'm adding my name to the list of folks who can't Edit Books in the iOS app.

I'm currently running iOS 26.5 on an iPhone 16e. LibraryThing app says it's version 1.2.4 (build 145).

Everything else in the app is working (ie. Add to Catalog, search collections, rate books, change a book's collection). The only thing I can't do is tap on "Edit Book". As others have mentioned, it just spins and spins. Back in Dec/Jan it was intermittent where if I wanted long enough the page would come up for me to make changes. But that stopped several months ago.

Just curious if there's an update or a fix coming soon.

I came here to post about the bug but already see it has been an issue for a while now.

I'm also curious as to timeline for a fix. I'd really like to get the edit feature back - it's the only way to "view" all of the book details on anything I have entered. I frequently need to consult book details when I am traveling. (Also, the "View on LibraryThing" link doesn't work either.)
