Happy Birthday, Chinua Achebe! I first read Things Fall Apart as a high-schooler decades ago. My friend lent me her mother's copy. There is no doubt that a lot of it went over my head, but it fed my interest for African literature.
After that, it took me years to find and read No Longer At Ease.
