Fiction werewolf book published in the 2010s. Vaguely remember the author was contemporary to authors such as Larissa Ione.
So it’s an adult urban fantasy, I’m fairly sure the female leads name is Ruby. She’s a social worker or at least working in a refuge and she notices one of her fav teenage girls is missing and while looking for her basically stumbles into a werewolf ring. The kids die, she gets bitten and turned.
That’s all the key details I remember, possibly her love interest is like an enforcer hunting down problem werewolves? But that’s like, book 1, and each book follows a different couple, with some overlap.
Intended audience is adults, it was an officially published book/book series, not self-published. It's not Patricia Briggs, Larissa Ione, or on any of the Goodreads lists that I've seen re. werewolves. Definitely adult and not YA.
