>1 TonjaE: Hi! I saw you were going to be reading my favorite Forster book in January so I had to join in.
I keep a reading log over in the 75 Books Challenge, but I tend to neglect it in favor of reading another book. https://www.librarything.com/topic/366793

>2 amanda4242: Oh that's fantastic, it seems Maurice is putting together quite a few connections with us already. I think I might get a sneaky early start on it and looking forward to hearing your experience of it. Going to check out your reading log now :)

>2 amanda4242: I'm tickled pink you will be reading with us, Amanda. Are you a Forster fan? I look forward to adding more Forster in my life.
I've read
A Passage to India (twice)
A Room with a View
The Machine Stops an incredibly prescient short story, a classic
Aspects of the Novel an enlightening exploration of techniques of the novel. It's where he explained what is plot, the third line,

A Room with a View several times
Maurice three or four times
Where Angels Fear to Tread
Howards End (I really need to re-read it one of these days.)

>5 amanda4242: 3 or 4 times? And want to read it again? That is quite a testament. I'm even more keen for Jan's read now. @TonjaE, I love your genius, and good timing, putting this group together. I say that and we haven't even read 1 page yet. ha It's going to be good, though, I feel it in my bones.

>6 DebiCates: *shrug* It's been a few years since I've read it and I love revisiting good books.

>2 amanda4242: Hey would you mind if I linked your reading log in this group on the 'create your own' thread? It's a great example.

>6 DebiCates: No one has ever accused me of having genius or good timing before! Thanks... I think. :)
I have a beautiful set of Forsters' novels published by the Folio Society, all of which need reading. I think years ago I must have seen some films based on his books which I enjoyed, then meaning to read them as well but I haven't got around to them yet so I can't wait for JAN 2026 read now too.

Lucky you! I have paperbacks that I picked up here and there; they don't look pretty, but that means I don't feel guilty when I underline favorite passages.

>12 amanda4242: That's a good point. I won't be taking them out of the house at all either, so their quite restricting really... yay for paperbacks, I love them just as much because no matter what they look like, every book is full of magic inside.

>13 TonjaE: We readers almost need two separate personal libraries: one of the editions for reading, one of the beautiful expensive editions for just making us visually happy.
I have a few books that I bought because I love their cover art but have zero interest in reading. How demented is that?
