@RobertDay just posted a review of this in the Science Fiction Fans group, and made particular mention of the bad cover, so ...

Strike a pose!

A cover that reminds us of the simple fact that it's very easy to look silly in a cape.

It's giving Spirit Halloween "Sci-fi Hero" costume vibes.

There's a stone tower behind the mothership. Wait, it's behind the planet. I can't make sense out of that.

First off, this has more than one BEHIND YOU!

I thought the little ships flying out of the big one were some kind of connector plugs at first.

Also, the tower in spaaaaace is a mystery to me. Maybe Mr. Shower Curtain (standing on a Ting! in vacuum?) is playing a game of long-distance chess with someone in another solar system?

Listen, if you can't pull off a cape better than Billy Dee Williams (and who can?), don't be trying it.

This features in a never-aired Leonard Pinth-Garnell sketch on original SNL.

Excellent find. GSS to @RobertDay , who would be a good addition to our small but merry band.

>11 GSSex-noob: Yeah, it's the usual "cram a bunch of random story elements together on the cover because you can't manage an actual scene in the story" 1 style of cover art. I don't find it entirely objectionable, but if you're going to go that route, try to make the bits and pieces a bit more interesting. The castle is bog standard pseudo-medieval, the spaceship is mid, the cape is Walmart, and if you want a guy seemingly suspended in front of a planet, giving him a Ting! to stand on doesn't help. It's not terrible but I can't give it more than a C.

1 A certain kinship with the Giant Floating Heads style of cover?
