I'm glad your ankle is better. I can imagine it was a very painful experience. I own a copy of House in the Cerulean Sea. I think I know where it is located. That's a miracle considering I have piles of books in every room.

All good wishes for a wonderful year of reading in 2026.

40PaulCranswick
Jan 24, 6:57 am

>37 louisisaloafofbreb: You have been here before, Lily. Stay where you are comfortable and where people are open, accepting and friendly. I have very rarely faced animus in the group or even on the site generally to be honest. On the occasions where I don't see eye to eye with someone or they take umbrage with something about me I will just leave them be and it works.

You finished The Perfect Son! What did you think? I just realized I forgot to add that to my I-read-it pile. I thought is was pretty good. :)

57norabelle414
Mar 5, 10:55 am

>55 louisisaloafofbreb: When I wanted to get better at writing reviews I started by using a template:
- 2 sentences saying what happened in the book,
- 1 thing I liked about the book,
- 1 thing I didn't like about the book,
- whether I would recommend it or read it again

Once I did that for awhile I got better at it and it got way easier.

Poem I wrote~

That you are here - that life exists and identity,
That death expired in the years of agony,
Mothers twist and turn in blight --
Showers blast the rain and tune --
As melodies mast the flow of birds
Rivers flowing through mountains above
Life is a bright song rushing through the choirs
Games like chess blame people as a pawn
Pawns can be played unlike a lion in a circus
But lions can escape like a gecko in the night
