1. I had a stack of DNF, so I reread a Betty Neels book to break the streak.

I don't know if I've just been too busy to finish a book before I lose interest (it's taking a week to finish books that would normally take a day or two) or if it's that I still haven't found a good (quiet) reading spot in the new house, but I am hoping I will get back into my reading groove soon.

2. Love on a Bookshelf, 2025, Kiah Thomas

Girl is a bookshop owner, Guy is an author. They meet when they're both going through some things and she insults him. He then writes a best seller and dedicates it to her, she is asked by the publisher to go on the book tour with him, and they work things out.

I thought this was a good book. It was a slow burner but it kept you reading. Not smutty. Good writing. Would probably read something else by the author.

3. The Sheriff and the Amnesiac, 2002, Ryanne Corey

Bad girl rolls into town on her Harley, fights with Sheriff who has instalove. She gets hit by a car and loses her mind. He takes care of her and then she remembers everything and runs away. He goes after her. They fall in love.

This took forever to finish. The plot wasn't sure what exactly it wanted to be. The story did flow and I would probably read something else by the author but overall it was a meh.

Mid-year update:

I have read 2 books (and one reread) this year.
There have been so many DNF because I lost interest partway through.
I have one Early Copy to finish but it isn't as good as I'd hoped.

For the rest of the year:

I really hope that I find my footing again. This is the least I have read in years. I'm not certain where my time is going.

Happy Reading, everyone!
